Boobie Bars: Our New Favorite Snack!

For new mommies who may need a boost in milk supply BoobieBars are sure to be your new BFF! Not only are they delicious, coming in 3 different flavors including Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Blueberry Coconut and a Gluten Free Peanut Butter, but they pack a serious herbal and nutritional support punch.

Nutritionally speaking all of the flavors include Moringa Leaf (aka, Miracle Tree) which is well known for its impressive nutrient profile, and coconut oil. Moringa leaves are full of protein, vitamin B6, vitamin C, riboflavin and iron. They are also a great source of quercetin, an antioxidant known for supporting healthy blood pressure, and chlorogenic acid, an antioxidant that has been shown to have positive effects on blood sugar levels. Moringa also has anti-inflammatory properties and it keeps blood cholesterol levels in check! Yay Moringa Leaf! Coconut oil has a fantastic fatty acid profile (healthy fats) that includes high levels of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), which you can also find in the ‘healthy weight’ section of your local health food store! (wink wink)

Boobie Bars don’t stop there. The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and Blueberry Coconut flavors also contain Brewer’s Yeast which has been used for promoting healthy breast milk production for a long time. Full of B vitamins to fight the stress that comes along with new mommy-hood as well keeping your mood and energy levels balanced, Brewer’s Yeast has a ton of extra benefits aside from just milk production!

As far as herbs go, these bars have a power trio of Fenugreek, Shatavari and Turmeric. Fenugreek is a widely popular herb for increasing milk production, though why it works so well is not entirely understood. Some researchers suspect that the oils found in fenugreek seeds play a role. Shatavari is an Ayurvedic (holistic) herb that has been used as a female rejuvenative tonic and hormone balancer for centuries. Also known as ‘one who possesses 100 husbands’, Shatavari has long been known as an herb of longevity. And then there’s our old friend, turmeric. Have you heard of turmeric’s long list of awesome benefits?! Topping that list is turmeric’s ability to promote a healthy inflammatory response. Inflammation can show up as swollen, tender breasts, clogged mammary glands and other nursing discomforts. By reducing inflammation in the breast tissue, our mammaries can do their job more efficiently!

All that aside, these little bars are a delicious sweet treat that can be way more fun that downing a dropper full of funky herbal elixir! (Not to dis funky herbal elixirs!)
